Airnorth delivers Santa Claus to Elcho Island, Milingimbi and Kununurra in 2020
Following over two decades of tradition; the 2020 Airnorth Santa Run will visit the communities of Elcho Island, Milingimbi and Kununurra with one mission: to spread Christmas cheer. Airnorth will be visiting the local primary schools in each destination and is proud to be partnering with Coles Northlakes for a third consecutive year along with the McDonalds restaurants of greater Darwin to deliver fresh fruits, candy canes, water bottles and SunSmart hats to the children of these communities.
“Our annual Santa Run always serves as a reminder of the importance of community and this year with many of our more remote regions experiencing even greater isolation as a result of COVID-19, we felt it was especially important to uphold our tradition of delivering Santa and a bit of holiday magic in 2020,” said Airnorth CEO Daniel Bowden.
Airnorth is grateful for the continued support of Coles Northlakes who are always happy to provide fresh fruit and candy canes each year to be handed out along the Santa Run.
“Coles is a proud supporter of Indigenous communities and as part of our strategy to help Australians lead happier, healthier lives, we are pleased to donate fresh produce to remote indigenous communities in the Northern Territory this Christmas.
We hope these communities enjoy their special visit from Santa and the delicious and nutritious fresh produce from Coles,” said Coles Northlakes Store Manager Daniel Gobbo.
This year, Airnorth is thrilled to welcome on board McDonalds who have generously donated the water bottles and SunSmart hats as gifts for the children.
“McDonalds has a rich history of giving back to our communities, so we were pleased when Airnorth invited us to participate in their annual Santa Run this year,” said Phillip Coleman – McDonald’s Licensee.
“We thought what better way to provide the children of these communities with fun yet practical gifts that encourage outdoor play and a healthy lifestyle. We hope that the children receiving these gifts will enjoy them and get plenty of use from the water bottles and SunSmart hats as we approach the hot summer months ahead.”
Airnorth would like to extend a special thank you to all our supporters: Coles Northlakes, McDonalds restaurants of greater Darwin, Shepherdson College, Ewin Early Learning Centre, Saint Joseph Primary School Kununurra, and Milingimbi Primary School.
